  • Vacant Building Complaint to report a building that is open or not sealed
  • Trespassing to report someone on vacant private property in the past or repeatedly at the same location
  • Rat or Mouse Complaint to report rats, mice, or conditions that might attract them 
  • Dirty Yard or Alley to report dirty conditions outside a private property that are visible from public street or sidewalk 
  • Drug Sale for drug activity in a vacant building

Zombie homes are:

  • Properties with 1-4 units
  • Abandoned and vacant
  • Physically distressed
    • Overgrown weeds
    • Graffiti
    • Trash all over the property
    • Visible repairs needed
  • In foreclosure or pre-foreclosure (the owners are behind on their mortgage payments)

Through the ҹȤ´«Ã½ Preservation and Development's (HPD) Zombie Home Initiative (ZHI), HPD staff survey the exteriors of zombie homes and design new ways to return them to productive use.

You can report a zombie home to HPD by phone.

Be sure to include:

  • The address of the zombie home being reported
  • Any relevant property conditions that need to be addressed
  • If you want to be contacted for follow up:
    • Your name
    • Your phone or email contact information
